Dr. Othman Benomar holds a PhD in astrophysics and spent over a decade doing peer-reviewed research in asteroseismology, the study of stellar oscillations to probe the internal structure of stars. His work contributed to characterising hundreds of solar-type stars and sub-giants observed by NASA's Kepler space telescope, with publications in The Astrophysical Journal, Nature, and Science.

Driven by the overlap between Bayesian inference, signal processing, and large-scale data analysis, he transitioned into industry ML engineering, bringing rigorous statistical thinking to production systems. He specialises in probabilistic methods, anomaly detection, and time-series modelling.

He is currently a Lead Data Scientist at Craftsman Software, where he leads the development of the ML, AI, and statistics stack powering AppThrust's production observability platform, PipelineML.

Beyond work, Othman is applying ML to restaurant operations, exploring demand forecasting, predictive staffing, and inventory optimisation in the hospitality sector. He is also active in DeFi and on-chain data analytics, with tooling built for the Cardano blockchain ecosystem.
